Snow In Canada, Eh!

There has been some wacky weather going on. When I look outside in the mornings, there's a little ice on the street. The pigeons keep trying to poke at it - why I don't know. They're pigeons and they're not so smart sometimes, eh!

Mulder, Eh!

As many of you know, I have a Twitter account. As of yesterday, I have over 1,000 tweets! Exciting, eh! My tweets show up on my blog over there to the left in my "Twitterbox" (get it, it's like a litterbox? *snicker snort*).

Twitter is kind of fun as I have anipals from all over the globe! Yuppers, I'm not the only tweeting cat (or dog or guinea pig or bird or rabbit) out there. There are tens of thousands of us. It's a nice community. I've learned cool things from my Twitter pals and even taught them a few things about life as a Canadian cat in Las Vegas.

Today was a bitter sweet day though. One of my first Twitter pals Mulder (know as @Mulder_Cat on Twitter) had to cross the Rainbow Bridge.

For those of you not familiar with the term, it's a beautiful verse written about when us anipals go to heaven. Here it is:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So, Mulder had been sick for awhile with that horrible thing we all hate - cancer. Mulder liked to call his human "Staff" which was just hilarious. Staff took great care of Mulder and tried every treatment there was. Mulder did well for awhile, but recently that hoser cancer became too strong. (And hoser is a nice term, I could use something way worse here!)

From what we can tell in the Twitter community, Staff seems to be doing ok for losing his anipal today, and in common Twitter fashion, @Mulder_Cat was giving updates from OTRB today! (I've recently learned this power is possible.) Sounds like he even took his iPad over there, eh! *snicker snicker*

He said he was back to his normal weight, had his front claws back, and had wings - just like my brother Smoke! I dropped Mulder a tweet and asked him to give that bossy brother of mine a big old thwap on the head up there. I said he couldn't miss him - he's the big fat gray cat from Canada. *MOL* Mulder said, no problem he was on it!

It's great to know humans and anipals can still talk to any of our loved ones whether its through prayer, dreams, or OTRB Twitter! *MOL*

Mulder has a sister still here on Earth. Here name is Scully. Mulder says that Scully will take over bossing Staff around. Sounds like a solid kitty plan to me!

One of the best things I think Mulder shared with us on Twitter is how to build a kitty tuffet. It's basically a wonderful warm, snuggley blanket pile. I told Niece and now they're my roommate Frankie's favorite!

With happy thoughts of Mulder,
Boo Man

Dear Santa, (insert implied Aye here)

Dear Santa,

I'm writing to let you know I have been the purrfect boy this year. In celebration of this exemplary behavior, I have a few requests. For your convenience, since I know you're very busy these days, I have provided a simple and organized list below.

#1.) Seafood Cat Treats
The reason for these should be pretty self explanatory. I come from an Island with lots of fish... it's just my thing.

#2.) The Ball of Furry Fury
I'm pretty sure I could kick this mouse's toosh all over this place!

#3.) Ba Da Beam
We need this laser light show at The Rug so we can be the awesome disco kitties that we are around these parts. It's all about the Vegas nightlife!

#4.) 360 degree water fountain
Not only is this a lovely centerpiece for our home, but I'm sure this flowing water is tasty and fun to play in! I love to stick my face and paws in the water dish... shhh, don't tell!

#5.) Some stockings for my roommates
What can I say, I like to spoil the ladies.

And last but not least, I'd like a gift for my family. I think this picture frame would be nice so they can have a great big photo of me!

So just to re-cap:
Me = Good Boy
You = Bring me gifts

Since you're so savvy (and good looking too I must say there Mr. Claus) I know that you have my new address on file. I hope you enjoy seeing the fabulous lights of the Las Vegas strip as you fly into town, aye. As you know, we don't have many chimneys in the desert, so feel free to drop our items at the front door like the UPS man does.

Happy Holidays!!

Your very good boy,
Boo

p.s. I guess I should request something for my sister Peggy. She'd probably like this:

The Finicky Feline Food Review, Aye?

I had the opportunity to sample a tasty dish this past weekend here at the resort. It was Atlantic salmon served with natural juices. The chef, Mr. Bubble Bee, has a unique way of vacuum sealing the salmon so it maintains a flaky texture and fresh cooked salmon flavor. He's super famous for his tuna, which is served in water or oil, but I have to say this cutting edge venture into salmon will really take him to the next level with his finicky diners.

Saturday, or what I now call Salmon Saturday, started off with me having writer's block. I was sitting in front of the computer trying to blog and just decided that I needed something from room service to get my creativity flowing. Upon delivery, the first thing I noticed was the presentation. The finely flaked fish was placed on a hand painted plate from Japan with a design of a cat on it. I was stunned that the executive chef would send such a fine piece of china for a room service order. (Have I mentioned lately how much I love this resort?) The plate was also salmon in color complimenting the vibrant color of this delectable fish.

I first smelled the fish and sat back to let it's aroma prime my palate. I then took a small bite testing its texture and temperature. It was exquisite. From there, I couldn't control myself. I ate and ate and ate as if it was Thanksgiving dinner! I think at one point I even dropped some from my mouth because it was so exciting. When I was finished, I sat back thoroughly pleased with my meal, but too tired to blog. After a meal that wonderful, a nap is necessary, aye.

So if you're ever in Las Vegas, stop by the resort and request Chef Bumble Bee's Atlantic Salmon. You won't regret it!

Pawsitively Yours,
Critic Boo Man

p.s. Speaking of fish, don't forget to check out my virtual fish bowl over on the right. You can click anywhere on the water to feed them! They would appreciate a few bits of food from my pawsome readers!

Day Deux, Aye?

Bonjour, aye! It is day deux here in Vegas and my day started off just lovely. First, room service showed up with breakfast. Then maid service showed up and cleaned my box and fluffed my bed. I also had another spa treatment, man I love the brushes at this place! I also took in the morning sun through my spectacular view. Lots of birds out flying around and kids headed to school. I glad I'm so smart I don't have to go to school.

Some ladies were outside my door last night... I think they were partiers from the casino. I hissed at them a few times from under the door and went on my way. My neice tells me though that they were just stopping by to see if I'd like to join the fun. She says there's an American Shorthair with a calico coat - who doesn't love a blonde, redhead, and brunette all in one! And a Maine Coon - fluffy, not fat just like my fine self. Then there's a Lynx Point Siamese - I love the cute asian ladies with the big blue eyes. And then a Norwegian Forest. My fierce loyalty to Canandian hockey will make it tough to hang with the Wegie. Our rivalry runs deep...

The rest of my day was pretty low key. Took some nice naps. Had some lunch. I'm thinking on Saturday, I'm gonna head on out of my ritzy room and check out what this place has to offer. I've heard there's window seats throughout, fluffy couches, and a magnificent view from the 2nd floor.

Until then though, I'm definitely going to order the chunk light tuna in water from room service.

Pawsitively Yours,
Boo

What a Loonie Toonie Day - and I'm not talkin' currency, aye?

Well here I am at the computer, writing my new blog (which I might add makes me sleepy). Today has been a strange day, aye. First I had to get in that crazy plastic box I'm not overly fond of. The only things I like that are plastic and in the shape of a box are litter boxes! Then, I went to the airport with my human sister Gloria. I like her, she's pretty fun! But a cat at that airport - that's pretty crazy, aye?

When I found out I was riding in luggage where I had no drink service, no snacks, and no movies, I was pretty upset. I would have enjoyed a Garfield flic ya know.
However, I snuggled in and just waited for it to end. When we arrived, it was hotter than a Chinook wind or a fresh baked Timmy Horton doughnut! Yikes! I met my other human sister Karen again, and my human niece. My Mama talked about her a lot and her kitties in Las Vegas... waaaaait... that means, I'm in Las Vegas! WHOO HOO! This place is supposed to be super fun! Don't get me wrong, I love my life in Canada, but come on - it's Vegas baby!

Anywho, it appears I'm gonna be livin' with Niece. That's a good thing. She emailed my Mama and they had lots of cat chat over the years. I think she knows how to spoil a kitty from what I've heard. That's somethin' my 17.5 pounds of furry self is gonna like!

I had a pretty good ride in the car to my new home, even though my water had spilled and I was wet. And when I got to my new home, I had a whole big room to myself! It has new bowls, a new bed, a fresh litter box... is this what they call the high rollers suite?

At 4:30pm I got a full brushing. I think it's part of the spa package here. And I had some kibble in some custom made bowls. Talk about F-A-N-C-Y.

Well, I think I have to go check out the sweet view from my room. Maybe I'll check out the rest of the resort in the coming days.

Pawsitively yours,
Boo
