Meow Aye, Eh?

Boo Buddies - today is a new day!

After a heated debate (which started shortly after the Canadian men's AND women's olympic gold wins in hockey), it was voted that "eh" would be much more authentic than "aye." Lila pointed out that "aye" reminds her of Fonzie on Happy Days.... Point well taken my Maine Coon friend! I have to trust Lila since her feline roots are from a state bordering Canada!

So as this image demonstrates, I'm turning over a new maple leaf!

So let it be officially noted, "aye" is retired. We shall be a blog nation of "eh"!

Until next time, eh!

Pawsitively yours,
Boo

p.s. The official kitty vote was 3 out of 4. Newbe was too upset after the US hockey loss to vote.

Soccer Balls and Hockey Pucks, Aye!

While soccer is not as popular in America as it is in places like Europe and South America, our house seems to have many tiny sponge soccer balls in various colors. Keebler loves to play with them. I however, find them quite strange and I avoid them at all costs.

I'm thinking there's a hole in the cat toy world. They don't have any sponge hockey pucks! Now that I would play with! I'll have to start working on that as soon as I'm done napping in the sun, eating kibble, doing my laser workout, and laying on all the couches... dang I'm a busy guy!

Pawsitively Yours,
Boo

p.s. I've been trying to place bets with Keebler, Newbe, Lila and Frankie for the Canada/USA gold medal hockey game, but no one here will take my Loonies!

Shout Out, Aye!!

I gotta give big Canadian love and a shout out (otherwise known as a Boo Blast) to my Boo Buddy Kathy for coming up with the ingenious nickname for my Twitter link! It's called "Boo's Twitter Box". GET IT?! Twitter sounds like LITTER! MOL (MEOW OUT LOUD!!!).

That's good stuff right there, aye!!

Kathy has 2 cats and a dog that also get a Boo Blast. They are Kibbles, Crookshanks, and Fox. Here's a photo of my funny Boo Buddy!

Have a pawsitively awesome day!

Twitter, Aye?

Hey everyone!

Hope you've enjoyed watching this year's olympics in Canada. It's been very exciting.

Even more exciting is I joined Twitter! Now I can write more but write less all at the same time. Come following my adventures at: http://twitter.com/BooBiggins

Plus how could I not love something that has a bird as a logo and uses the word "tweet".

Tweet you later!

Olympics In Canada, Aye!

I'm so proud to see Canada on the television every day with the start of the 2010 Winter Olympics. It's very exciting! I just wish they'd televise the 2010 Winter Kitty Olympics! I realize that our games don't bring in the big sponsors (even though I'm pretty sure Tim Hortons would jump on board because every cat owner loves donuts), but the events are quite exciting. Check them out:

Catnip Mouse Curling - a catnip mouse is pushed across the floor and kitties use their paws to scrub the surface and get the mouse to its final destination. Disqualification occurs if the mouse has a googley eye ripped off.

Cat Couch Jumping - after a short run to gain speed, kitties soar through the air and have to clear the couch and land on the other side on all 4 paws. The wipe outs can be quite dramatic.

Cat Cross-Kitchen Racing - because the loud noise of starting guns scare us, the race is kicked-off with the clanking of plates. Kitties then take off, crossing the vast kitchen and all of its obsticles to arrive first at the finish line where tuna is disbursed in lieu of medals.

Cat Luge - after a hardwood floor is prepared and cleaned, kitties run and lay down, front paws out, and luge across it. Like the human luge, spinning out of control is not a good idea.

Cat Bobsled - a team of cats run together, then the first cat stops and the others crash into him causing a pile up or as the trainers say, a perfect "choo-choo train effect". If the cats can maintain a line formation and slide all the way to the finish line together, they win.

Cat Figure Skating - only the most graceful participate in this event spinning in circles and maintain composure on any slick marble tile surface. This one is my personal favorite.

In the spirit of the games, I'd now like to sing our Canadian Kitty National Anthem. Please rise...

O Canada! Meow!
Our home and native land! Meow!
True patriot love in all thy sons command. Meow!
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free! Meow!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee. Meow!
God keep our land glorious and free! Meow!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. Meow!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. Meow!

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

Your Canadian Gold Medalist in Awesomeness,
Boo

My Workout Show, Aye!

Hey Everyone!

Check out the pilot for my new series "Getting Fit With The Boo Man". I'm hoping to shop it around to a few networks. I'm not sure if FitTV will pick it up or Animal Planet.

As you can see, there is no equipment required, so it is perfect for any stay at home cat. All that is required is a laser beam and some open floor space. (Boo Man laser beam currently seeking patent and manufacturing.)

Finally, as you can see by my slimmer and trimmer figure, it has proven results!

Enjoy!!
Boo

p.s. The camera adds 10 pounds for humans and 1.25 for cats. So I'm even thinner than I look!

Better Make Sure I've Got No Tan Lines, Aye?

Greetings Boo Buddies!

I can't stay long because I have a tanning appointment over at the window seat in a few minutes, but I just had a drop a blog posting to say hello! After the big rainy week ended, we've had nothing but sunshine and clear skies. Niece and The Boy say that we should enjoy it now because come May it will start getting too toasty. For us cats though, we love warm sunshine. Every morning when I wake up, I say the kitty sunshine poem:

"Sun, Sun
You are so fun
When you arrive, I always run.

You toast my head,
You toast my feet,
You even toast my window seat.

I love your glow and your rays
They make me happy all my days.

Now get to warmin' and get to cookin'
Cause when I'm with you I'm super good lookin'!"

>>>>MOL!!! (Meow Out Loud).<<<<

Ahhhh, I love that poem.

I hope everyone is doing great! In addition to getting incredible tanning time, I'm also losing weight! I look so good it's a wonder I haven't been asked to star in my own television show yet... maybe someday soon.

Pawsitively yours,
The Boo Man

p.s. Maybe I should get some sunglasses...

Raining Us And Dogs, Aye!

My oh my is it wet here in the desert! Holy meowzers! From my window seat I can see rain on the ground, rain on the trees, rain on the grass, rain in the air... and worst of all there are NO birds out there to see! I mean I don't blame them, getting wet is about as fun as going to the vet, but I sure do miss seeing them fly around. Hopefully though they're warm and dry in their little bird shelters.

The other problem with the rain is that Keebler and Newbe can't go out to the garage and sit on Niece and The Boy's cars. See every night after dinner, they like to go out and sit on the warm car hoods, but because the cars are wet, they're not allowed out to the garage right now. And man are they grumpy! I'll be glad when the cars are dry again, and maybe Keebler's paws will be cleaner after she comes back in now that the rain cleaned Niece's SUV! Sometimes it looks like she's been out there changing tires.

I got to go out to the garage once, but Niece saw me lick the bottom of her truck and I got grounded... forever... I was just seeing what dirt in Las Vegas tasted like - geeez! I guess though there are yucky chemicals and she didn't want me to get hurt. She's a good guardian.

Well, I'm off to watch more of the rain! I hear we may see the sun tomorrow and maybe even a bird or two.

Pawsitively Yours,
Bored Boo Man

Cat Litter Madness, Aye?

I think we've become kitty product testers around here. Over the past week one of our litter boxes was filled with a very strange, very messy item called Feline Pine.

The gist of this product is that it is all natural with no chemicals or perfumes like clay litter has, and it is better for the environment. (I guess they have to mine clay from the Earth, which is damaging, but pine trees are renewable.) I'm all for not licking that yucky clay dust and bad chemicals off my feet, but Feline Pine was a little too out there for me... and the other kitties agree.

It was basically saw dust... like if you went to a pine tree cutting factory and swept the floors and put it into bags to sell. The upside is the box it came in was very light, the downside is the product is too light. It was everywhere in the house! We kicked it out of the box, we tracked it down the hall, it stuck to people's shoes... what a mess!! It was starting to look like we lived at a country western bar where they purposely put sawdust on the floors. Don't get me wrong, I like to Boot-Scoot-Boogie, but this was just ridiculous.

As for odor control it did ok, but it got kinda gummy in our box and it was hard to sift. I guess these crazy Feline Pine people also make a heavier, pellet type of litter too but that stuff is for guinea pigs and ferrets, not kitty cats. Niece says we're not even going to try that one.

So this week, we're trying a corn based litter by Littermaid. They're the people who make our automatic litterboxes. We love those boxes cause they clean themselves (it's like magic), but I'm not sure what I think about corn litter. It kinda smells like Grape Nuts the cereal! We'll see how this week goes, but fortunately it's heavier like clay litter so hopefully it won't end up all over the place.

So in the end Feline Pine gets 5 paws down.

Stay tuned for more kitty product reviews!

Boo's Movie Review, Aye

Hello Hello!

Boo Man here with his first movie review! I watch a lot of television with the family now, thanks to the window seat being in the room with the biggest televion, and recently I saw a movie that was just hilarious. It was called "G-Force".

It is a live action movie with animated guinea pigs and it is just brilliant! And I'm so happy I learned what guinea pigs were prior to seeing this movie because it made it just that more enjoyable (see my November blog posting about Niece's guinea pigs if you haven't read it already).

G-Force is a good movie for several reasons:
1.) The animation is pawsitively stunning. They have caught every tiny feature of a guinea pig right down to the way they walk to the little blood vessels in their ears when the sun shines on them.
2.) The story is very interesting. They're trying to save the world!
3.) It's very funny. They dance and make jokes - good times.
4.) The music is great. Real shake your furry booty kinda stuff.

So if you haven't seen it and like to see animals that are spies and part of a secret FBI department that has the latest and greatest guinea pig spy technology, than this movie is for you. Go rent it at your video store today!

Don't forget the popcorn!

What Is A Nebraska, Aye?

So around these parts, I hear lots of yelling at the television. This is new to me and I'm not sure why people yell at a box that doesn't yell back, but humans are pretty silly sometimes!

Through my undercover observations from the window seat (where I look like I'm sleeping but I really have one eye open... I'm sneaky like that), I have come to discover that they always yell at the same thing - football. Now I don't think football is as cool as hockey, but here in America it is very popular. Around our house, it is college football. I think it's neat that Niece and The Boy went to college - that's a lot of hard work! I guess in the end all that stress makes you yell at televised college football games for the rest of your life! MOL (meow out loud!!).

This year Niece's team, the Arizona Wildcats, did really well and went to a big celebration game called a "bowl". Unfortunately, this bowl wasn't filled with salmon or kibble.

The other team at this Bowl was the Nebraska Cornhuskers. One of Niece's best friends from high school lives in Nebraska and is a huge fan. So Niece made a bet. If her team won, her friend had to wear an Arizona shirt and take a photo, if Nebraska won, she had to wear a Nebraska shirt and take a photo.

Well some how I ended up in the shirt! WHAT?!! I'm not sure how I got pulled into this mess, but in the end we had a pretty funny photo to post on Facebook. Here's the picture of me modeling the shirt. I think I look good in red, but Niece says it should be Arizona red, not Nebraska red.

I hate to break it to Niece though, but Arizona didn't even score one single point at this big game so I wouldn't want to wear their shirt. MOL!!! She said that was ok though because she doesn't want to wear it right now either. Guess she's pretty disgusted, but not enough to wear this crazy corn-thingy shirt. What is a "Cornhusker" anyway? The midwest is wacky.

Pawsitively Yours,
Boo Crawford (just like the super model Cindy Crawford!)

Happy New Year, Aye!

Happy 2010 to all my Boo's Buddies!!

I'd like to think that this will be the decade of the Boo Man! I am so much more exciting than those Chinese horoscope animals.

I was able to celebrate the new year at 8pm Pacific Time since it was midnight on the Island by then. That made it very easy for me to then nap the rest of the night away. We had a quiet New Year's, but it was nice that all of us were hanging out watching the crazies on television that were down on the Las Vegas strip and in New York City. I think it was a little warmer in Vegas than in New York.

My goals for 2010 are:

1.) Eat more salmon, aye!
2.) Nap more often
3.) Keep chasing the laser pointer as it is helping me lose weight!
4.) Continue to get along with Newbe - we have a mutal understanding now
5.) Have fun chillin' out with Lila - we have a nice time on the window seat
6.) Hang out with Keebler more - she's the cool one
7.) Actually see Frankie - she hides a lot
8.) Get lots of hugs from Niece and The Boy - they are hug machines and I dig it!
9.) Watch the birds from my window seat. Our back yard is so lovely.
10.) Roll around on the floor and be the funny man that I am!

I hope each of you continue to have health, wealth and a pawsitively whiskertastic time in 2010!

Love always,
The Boo Man

p.s. Enjoy the new blog style for 2010!

My first Vegas Christmas, Aye!

Hi Everyone and Merry Christmas!!

What a wonderful, happy day we've had here in Vegas! First, I set up camp on the couch next to the Christmas tree to make sure Santa didn't forget about us. Unfortunately, we had an incident earlier this week when one of us had a hairball so we were without a tree skirt, but Niece says that lots of tree skirts go on sale tomorrow!

Then after a great night of sleep, I woke up to see our presents! I don't know how that big guy got past me, but alas he was here!!

Keebler, Frankie, Lila, and I dove in and got all kinds of awesome toys, even though I have to say the wrapping paper was pretty nice too. We had fun with that silly paper. Newbe I think had a little of the Grinch syndrome as she just sat there, but I bet she'll play with the toys later.

Here are some photos of us enjoying our morning:

My favorite gift is this fancy item that gets warmed in the microwave and keeps me toasty! I love technology. I call this my "Paw Spa" pampering.

I hope each of you had a great Christmas morning too. I plan on taking a big old nap in the Vegas sunshine now and enjoy the rest of my whiskertastic weekend.

With love and joy,
The Pampered Boo Man

Merry Ho Ho Ho, Aye!

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm tracking the fat man (i.e. Santa) here on the internet, and he appears to be making his way to the Island soon! So be sure to go to sleep and leave the big dude a snack (maybe some carrots cause I think he's had enough cookies... those darn carbs!)

Merry Christmas! I love you all!

Snowy Funny, Aye!

Hello Boo's Buddies,

I couldn't resist sharing with you this latest and greatest Simon's Cat episode, and it features snow! I saw a lot of that white fluffy stuff on the island. It was c-o-l-d!

Enjoy the show!

Dear Santa, (insert implied Aye here)

Dear Santa,

I'm writing to let you know I have been the purrfect boy this year. In celebration of this exemplary behavior, I have a few requests. For your convenience, since I know you're very busy these days, I have provided a simple and organized list below.

#1.) Seafood Cat Treats
The reason for these should be pretty self explanatory. I come from an Island with lots of fish... it's just my thing.

#2.) The Ball of Furry Fury
I'm pretty sure I could kick this mouse's toosh all over this place!

#3.) Ba Da Beam
We need this laser light show at The Rug so we can be the awesome disco kitties that we are around these parts. It's all about the Vegas nightlife!

#4.) 360 degree water fountain
Not only is this a lovely centerpiece for our home, but I'm sure this flowing water is tasty and fun to play in! I love to stick my face and paws in the water dish... shhh, don't tell!

#5.) Some stockings for my roommates
What can I say, I like to spoil the ladies.

And last but not least, I'd like a gift for my family. I think this picture frame would be nice so they can have a great big photo of me!

So just to re-cap:
Me = Good Boy
You = Bring me gifts

Since you're so savvy (and good looking too I must say there Mr. Claus) I know that you have my new address on file. I hope you enjoy seeing the fabulous lights of the Las Vegas strip as you fly into town, aye. As you know, we don't have many chimneys in the desert, so feel free to drop our items at the front door like the UPS man does.

Happy Holidays!!

Your very good boy,
Boo

p.s. I guess I should request something for my sister Peggy. She'd probably like this:

I Am Thankful, Aye!

Happy Thanksgiving Boo Buddies!!!

Today I am so thankful for the beautiful sunshine, my squishy window seat, the wonderful breakfast of canned salmon I had, the birds flying by, and the big Boo hug I got from Niece and The Boy first thing! I am so happy to be here with family on this glorious day!

I can't lie, I still miss my mama, but as my kitty guardian angel - she is always here.

This picture of a Thanksgiving cat was on a piece of mail we received recently, and I've heard some people say it looks like me. I think that's silly! I would never wear such a lame hat!!

With a full belly and a full heart I must now go take a Thanksgiving Day nap.

Much meow love,
Boo

Holy Holes, Aye!

MEOWZERS has this been a CRAZY week!!

On Thursday, I was put back in that crazy traveling box and in the car I went again. I'm really starting to hate that thing, but fortunately this time I wasn't going to the vet. I actually was getting to go have a slumber party at my sister Karen and Peggy's house. The reason I had to go over there though is even more crazy!

My magnificent house in Las Vegas had to get new piping! Yuppers, they had to replace the whole system. Fortunately, Niece and The Boy didn't have to pay a dime as it was the builders fault, but it was not fun for anyone.

As you can see they cut lots of holes in the walls. And from what I hear it was non-stop noise and people. The girls stayed at the house, but all 4 of them had to share the only bedroom not touched by the madness. They said it was crowded and I heard Frankie was not happy. I think that my slumber party was way more fun!

Here are some of the photos of the holes:
Newbe is inspecting the damage.

Here is the Casita - my favorite room!

So as you can see it was a wacky week, but soon our house will be back to normal and purrfect!

Pawsitively yours,
Boo Man

What is a guinea pig, aye?

So on our fridge are some photos of what Niece calls, "guinea pigs". I don't know what a guinea pig is, but I guess Niece had 3 of them before she had cats. Lila lived with them when she was adopted, and then Frankie and Newbe met 2 of them. Niece says they're about the size of a kitten. That sounds cute to me! Niece says they also make this sound called a "wheek". She said if I thought Keebler was bad at meowing for food, that I should hear a guinea pig go crazy wheeking for lettuce. She said it was hilarious!

When Lila lived with the piggies, she'd take a nap on the floor and then Niece would let the piggies out and they'd run by the sleeping Lila and nip at her tail and run away. Lila would pop her head up and there'd be no one there. Kinda funny if you ask me! Niece says that Lila was a good kitty with the piggies and only chased one a few times. Lila would never hurt a piggie. Niece said she wanted to groom one like a kitten, but the piggies didn't want any cat slobber on them!

Niece said her first guinea pig was Harriet. She was a beautiful and smart girl with blue eyes. Niece said she was fiesty like the Italians in her family. MOL (meow out loud) that is funny! Outside of Keebler, Niece says she's never seen an animal have such a human soul. Harriet was very special. One time, Harriet ate a plastic bag, which I have to say I like them too! But for Harriet it was very dangerous. She ended up with an intestinal blockage and she almost died! Niece saved her though with some magic potions a vet recommended, and she lived a nice long piggie life. Niece says her favorite thing about Harriet was her ears. She had super pink piggie ears.

Her second guinea pig was Maggie. She got Maggie when she was just a guniea piglette (well that might not be the right term but she was so tiny). Niece says that Maggie had the funniest piggie purr. I didn't know they purred like us! Maggies whole body would shake like a Tickle-Me-Elmo. Niece says that Maggie was so kind and gentle. Kind of like Frankie. Maggie was shy but loved to snuggle.

Her third guniea pig was Chestnut. Chestnut was such a beautiful color. Niece says she was a little crazy in the head but so much fun. She could be stubborn too. That sounds like Newbe and Keebler put together in a piggie body! Niece said that Chestnut was the December piggie of the month one year on a guinea pig website. Guess she was really super beautiful to have received such an honor!

One thing I think is cool is that they had their own log cabins! YES, you heard me, their own log cabins! That's something rich people have and there were 3 cabins for them. They also had their own couch and chair! What's hilarious is that when Newbe was adopted, she got onto their couch and took a nap. She must have squished herself up good! Those couches weren't very big. The piggies also had soft beds that Niece would scoop them up in and they would get combed. Maggie liked to climb in them and take a nap too. Boy were they spoiled... ok, I guess us kitties are spoiled too...

What is really amazing is that you can litter box train guinea pigs. Niece said that they would use specially designed corner litter boxes when they were out roaming around. Now those are some smart critters! Niece said like cats, they also love the sun and would often sit and munch hay while getting all warm and toasty.

All of Niece's piggies are in heaven now munching away on romaine lettuce and enjoying the sunshine. The spot in Denver, in Niece and The Boy's backyard, where the piggies were buried sprouted it's own baby Aspen tree. Niece thought that was very fitting! They would have loved to have their own tree.

I'm sad I didn't meet her piggies, but I'm happy to have learned what they are! We are all such magnificent creatures on this Earth - American, Canadian and Guinean!

Pawsitively Yours,
Boo

Been Busy, Aye!

Howdy Howdy!

Sorry it has been so long since I've written on my blog. I've been one busy fella.

First, Niece and The Boy finished the window seat, and let me tell you, that is one fabulous window seat! I have officially moved from the casita to the window seat. Now "why", would you ask, would I give up a luxurious suite for a seat? Well let me tell you why: I can sleep on it, I can nap on it, I can sit on it, I can watch birds from it, I can watch television there, I can get afternoon sunshine, and I can hang out with everyone since they are always in that room... the thing is amazing. Outside of the vacuum pouch salmon and catnip cigars, I'm not sure anything better has been invented.

Then we had some visitors. The Boy's family came to see us. That was a lot of fun because everyone thought I was one cool fella. I appreciate that they're smart people who know a good lookin' Canadian guy when they see one, aye. Even more fun was an air bed in the casita. I think we should have an air bed in the casita all the time, even though it would then be hard to chose whether to be on the air bed or on the window seat. Here I am enjoying its awesomeness!

Another cool thing about the airbed was blankets! I love getting under blankets. It's like having my own tent or fort or cave. Here's a photo of me burrowing like a ground hog.

Yup life is pretty good. Lila and I have become good friends. Keebler is still my buddy. Frankie doesn't come around much, but I like her anyhow. And then there's Newbe... our relationship has it ups and downs, but for the most part we're living a much more peaceful life. I'll never understand that crazy American girl, but I have respect for how fast she can run up the stairs. I'm getting faster too! Which is good for my work outs and my heart!

Speaking of which, I see Dr. P. again tomorrow for a check up. They have given me some medicine that is supposed to help keep me healthy! That's good because I have lots of and lots of years to sit on that window seat!!

I saw Peggy Sue recently. She's doing great. She loves her buddy Charlie and she's all fluffy for winter, which is good because her summer haircuts are kinda silly, but it keeps her nice and cool when she's rolling around in the grass. Which might I add, I can see our grass from my window seat and the birds that are on it. I love the window seat!!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween - Niece and The Boy don't pass out candy, which I'm glad. It's so crazy to hear that doorbell every 2 seconds. Us cats, we hate that. Doorbells are bad - they're NOT window seats...

Next up, Thanksgiving!! I can't wait to see how much turkey Keebler gets from Niece and The Boy. That girl can beg for food like no other kitty I've seen. You'd think she was a dog!!

Pawsitively yours,
Window Seat Boo Man
